People heading out to enjoy Bonfire Night celebrations across Tockholes and the surrounding moors will have somewhere warm to stop off this week, as a popular village café prepares for one of its busiest evenings of the year.

Ramblers Country Café on Tockholes Road will stay open until 9pm on Thursday, November 5, welcoming walkers, families and fireworks fans looking to escape the November chill.

The café team will be serving a range of homemade food, sweet treats and hot drinks throughout the evening as visitors take in fireworks displays visible across the surrounding countryside.

Lauren Thomas, who runs the café, said staff are looking forward to throwing open the doors for what has become a popular annual event.

She said: "We'll be making hot dogs, chilli, French onion soup, homemade treacle toffee and cakes."

"It gets really busy, it's really nice and everyone likes going and watching all the fireworks in the distance over Darwen Moors."

Perched on the edge of some of Lancashire's most scenic countryside, the café has become a popular stop for walkers, cyclists and visitors exploring the area throughout the year.

On Bonfire Night, its location offers an ideal place for people to gather before or after heading out to enjoy displays lighting up the skies across the region.

Alongside its food menu, the café will also be serving its usual selection of hot drinks, including freshly brewed coffee, tea and hot chocolate, giving visitors the chance to warm up during the cold autumn evening.

The event comes after a difficult few weeks for residents and businesses in the village following power outages which affected parts of the area.

Lauren hopes the evening will provide an opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy a positive occasion as the festive season begins to approach.

With fireworks expected to sparkle across the skyline and hearty food on offer throughout the evening, the café is anticipating a steady stream of visitors eager to make the most of Bonfire Night in one of Lancashire's most picturesque villages.

Ramblers Country Café will be open until 9pm on Thursday, November 5, with food and drinks available throughout the evening.
