Amir Khan is taking time out from his pre-match training regime to support the family of a firefighter critically injured in a Bolton blaze which has claimed two lives.
The boxer is helping to raise money for Steve Morris and his family, just three weeks ahead of his big fight at the MEN Arena on September 6.
Mr Morris was among a team of firefighters called to the house in Little Holme Walk, Great Lever.
He was severely burned as he tried to save grandmother Hameeda Begum, who later died.
The blaze, on June 23, claimed its second victim last Friday when four-year-old Alana Mian, Mrs Begum’s grandaughter, lost a six-week fight for life.
The event will be at Bolton Central Fire Station on August 16.
