SMASH-AND-GRAB thieves stole two handbags after breaking into two cars.
A Kia, parked in Venice Street, Daubhill, was targeted by thieves who smashed a rear window in the early hours of Wednesday.
They stole a handbag containing £50 in cash and jewellery worth about £275.
A second theft occurred on the same day, between 4.45pm and 5pm, near St Michael’s Church in Manchester Road, Great Lever.
Thieves smashed the front off-side window of a Toyota Yaris and stole a handbag containing £200 in cash.
The thefts are not believed to be connected.
