A CHARITY quiz is being held in memory of a man killed in a town centre road accident.
Ian Pendlebury, from Bradshaw, was cycling to work when he was involved in an accident with a lorry at the junction of Folds Road and Bury New Road on Wednesday, August 13.
The Grey Mare Inn, Tottington Road, Harwood, is hosting a quiz, raffle and pie and pea supper next month.
Money raised will be donated to a charity called SCARD, which supports people after road deaths and injury, and the animal charity PDSA.
Mr Pendlebury regularly visited the pub at weekends.
Landlord Derek Gallagher said: “We are hoping that we can raise quite a lot of money for the charities and everyone is welcome to come along.
“Ian was well known at the pub. He always sat in the same place and no-one else sits there now.”
The quiz is being held on Wednesday, October 1, at 9pm and it costs £5 for a team of four.
