William Hill have reopened betting on when Champion jockey AP McCoy will ride his 3,000th winner after the record-breaker rode a treble at Newbury.
The three-timer on yesterday afternoon’s card means the McCoy is just 15 winners away from reaching the amazing total, and another place in the history books.
With an average of 4-5 winners a week, McCoy looks set to make the landmark figure in the first two weeks of February, and Hills make it 9/4 that the milestone is reached between the February 9-14.
With another important date around that time, Hills also offer odds of 14/1 that McCoy rides his 3,000th winner on Valentines Day!
Kate Miller, spokeswoman for Hills, said: "McCoy is just a heartbeat from this incredible goal, and every winner he rides brings him closer to this achievement. Seeing as McCoy is the punters’ darling, it would be fitting if he could make it a Valentine’s Day celebration – and give the public even more reason to love him!’’
