THE Queen arrived in sunny Bolton to be greeted by cheering school children.
Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh visited Bolton’s famous bread makers Warburtons on a whistle stop tour of the North-west.
Queen Elizabeth II was welcomed to the Hereford Street bakery by pupils from the Valley School who waved Union flags.
Office staff and factory workers lined the entrance to Warburtons and greeted the royal party with a hearty cheer.
The Queen and Prince Philip talked to staff as they toured the factory.
The royal couple then met Denise Dootson, the Bolton bakers’ longest serving employee.
