TWO thousand women will put their best feet forward for Bolton Hospice tonight.
They will set off from Victoria Square at midnight to cover eight miles on the Midnight Memories walk. They hope to raise £200,000 for the hospice.
Tonight’s events start at 9pm with entertainment and warm-up exercises, and the sale of refreshments and merchandise.
Maura Pritchard, aged 60, of Settle Street, Great Lever, is officially walker number one and will set the women on their way at midnight. Her daughter, Janine Holden, died aged 31 in Bolton Hospice in 2004, after being diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2003.
The route will take walkers up Chorley New Road to Horwich’s Beehive roundabout and back into Bolton.
Walkers will be dressed in pink T-shirts with pink fancy dress and merchandise.
This year’s walk is the third and will be the biggest yet. Good luck, ladies!
