THE 2,000 women who took part in Bolton Hospice’s third Midnight Memories Walk are being urged to start getting their sponsorship in.
The event on Saturday night is expected to raise at least £194,000 for the hospice, calculated from sponsorship pledged on the night.
Debra Graham, director of fundraising at the hospice, said: “The sponsorship coming in is the key to the success of the event.
“We would ask people to get their money in as soon as possible.
“If possible, please don’t bring in cash — it is easier for us to handle cheques so we are quite happy for walkers to bank the money and post us a cheque in the envelopes we have provided.”
The women walked eight miles, from Victoria Square to the Beehive roundabout, in Horwich, and back, setting off at midnight.
