A MAN banned from the road has been given a suspended jail term after being caught riding an off- road motorcycle on Market Street, Farnworth.
David Bretherton, aged 31, of Barnes Close, Farnworth, pleaded guilty to riding the bike on September 8 without insurance and then failing to surrender to court.
He was given a 12 week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and will be electronically tagged to enforce a home curfew, running between 8pm and 7am, for 12 weeks.
Magistrates also banned him from driving for 12 months and ordered him to pay £43 prosecution costs.
