PUDSEY bear made a new friend when he visited a fundraising event in Horwich.

The yellow character, who is the face of BBC’s Children In Need, met the Bolton Mayor Bear at a coffee morning on Saturday.

The event, held at Horwich Resource Centre, raised £250.

It included a raffle, cake sale, bric-a-brac, and bear related competitions.

The Mayor Bear is part of the current mayor of Bolton’s fundraising campaign. Cllr Norman Critchley is selling 250 of the cuddly items to raise cash for good causes.

Cllr Barbara Ronson, who was one of the organisers of the event, said: “It went really well and had a lot of support from the community, with elderly people and youngsters coming along.

“We thought it would be a nice touch to have Pudsey and the Bolton Mayor Bear meet — and then we raffled them both.”
