TAMIR Cohen is only looking up now that Wanderers have got themselves out of the relegation zone.

Believing that his side have done the hard work in turning round a winless run of games stretching back to October 25, the Israel international is now calling for a measure of consistency in an appetising run of fixtures to the New Year.

“It was a great feeling to get the win against West Ham and a great boost to get out of the relegation zone but now we have to kick on from here,” the 25-year-old midfielder said.

“We know we have a massive game coming up on Monday against Wigan and this is a crucial time for us.

“When you look at the league table it is very tight, and you know that if you can get a win, you can jump three or four places.

“We need to focus on climbing the table now.”

The mood around the Wanderers camp going into Monday’s Premier League encounter against Wigan will be significantly more buoyant than it had been going into this week’s crucial double header.

And Cohen hopes that after consecutive results against the Hammers and City, that positivity can bleed through into the local derby at the DW Stadium.

“The results against Manchester City and West Ham have given the side a lot of confidence but it is important that we now keep going,” he said.

“I think we deserve to have taken six points from six — sometimes you are unlucky.

“But we need to continue in the same way and give a similar performance when we go to Wigan.”
