PUPILS from Spindle Point Primary School performed the traditional nativity story of Christmas to a full house at the revamped Kearsley Mount Methodist Church.
More than 300 parents and grandparents packed out the refurbished church in Manchester Road.
Teacher Stephanie Unsworth said: “It went very well. The children worked really hard and gave a really good performance.
“It was good to be able to use such a great facility. It really benefits the local community and there was a great atmosphere.”
The church has undergone a £400,000 transformation into a multi-purpose community and conference centre.
Stephen Tonge, of the church council, said: “It was absolutely brilliant to see the church full and being used by the community. This is what it’s all about.”
