Sergeant Liz blows her ‘trumpet’ for youth project
A POLICE officer performed with her band to raise money for charity.
Sgt Liz Connor, who is based at Farnworth, and the Longridge Brass Band provided festive cheer during Operation Mince Pie last month. They raised £100 for the Sycamore Project, which runs Zacs Youth Bars.
Sgt Liz Connor, who plays the cornet, said: “It was two days before Christmas and it was snowing. We were outside Asda for about three hours and people were very generous. I would like to thank everyone who donated to the worthy cause.”
Operation Mince Pie saw officers from the South Safer Neighbourhood Team patrolling Farnworth town centre over the Christmas period to deter criminals.
