THE Prime Minister has joined a long list of people hoping a popular Bolton grandmother "gets well soon"
Community campaigner Lillian Kearns, who is battling cancer, has received a card signed by Tony Blair and Chancellor Gordon Brown.
It was delivered to Mrs Kearns by Bolton West Labour candidate Ruth Kelly when she visited Bolton Hospice last week.
Mrs Kearns' son, Francis, said his mum was delighted to receive the card.
"It was hand-written and wished my mum all the best and to get well soon," he said. "Ruth had a chat with her as well."
Mrs Kearns, of Lightbounds Road, Doffcocker, was awarded the MBE in 1998 for services to the community.
"My mother is well known for her community work in the Johnson Fold area. Up until she fell ill just before Christmas, she was still helping to run the area's youth club," said Mr Kearns.
"She is also an active supporter of the Labour Party."
