A REGIONAL conference for independent care home providers is to be held in Bolton.

Organised by the National Care Homes Association (NCHA) the conference delegates will contribute to the Government's review of the care sector's regulations.

Health Minister Dr Stephen Ladyman MP said: "NCHA's regional conferences provide an important opportunity for independent care providers to contribute to the Department of Health's review of the National Minimum Standards and Regulations for adult social care. It is vital that we hear the voice of the sector and I look forward to receiving feedback from the conferences."

Dr Ladyman announced his planned review of the standards and associated legislative framework for adult social services at NCHA's Annual Conference last autumn with the aim of implementing changes in 2006.

Bolton is one of 12 venues around the country chosen to host an all-day conference. The conference will be held on April 13 at the Reebok Stadium, starting at 9am.
