BOLTON'S second team took centre stage as they crashed 10 tries past a hapless Altrincham Kersal in a 64-10 victory.

Winger Mike Singleton got the ball rolling after only five minutes, and though the home side pulled back a penalty, it wasn't long before Bolton were over the try line once more.

Stand-off Tom Keech and centre Mark Burke scored unconverted tries in quick succession, but Altrincham pulled a score back on the stroke of half time to make the scores 15-10 in Bolton's favour.

Some tactical changes gave Bolton a flying start to the second half, with Mike Gaffey and Dave Hulme combining to send Stuart Paul in for a try.

Within minutes it was the turn of the other winger Singleton to add another try to his collection, which was once again converted by Paul.

The Bolton forwards were not to be out done by the free scoring backs and hooker Mark Crow, lock Houston and flanker Paul Sutcliffe all scored tries. Fortunately, Keech had adjusted his radar and found his range, converting all three from difficult angles and long range.

The last ten minutes of the game were a formality but Bolton never let their foot off the gas and wanted a big score, a captain's try from Hulme after good work by man of the match, flanker Pete Brogan and a another try from Paul saw Bolton comfortable victors 64-10.

The third team made it back to back wins with a thumping 50-7 victory over local rivals Lostock.

Matt Hurst scored a hat trick, Derek Keogh added two and Tony Davenport scored the other try as Bolton continued their rise up the table.

Danny Barlow shared kicking duties with John Keech, adding the other points.

The fourth team lost 26-10 against Carrington, with tries coming from Sam Goodliffe and Simon Beswick. Tommy Lee was superb at number eight.
