GUY Horsley writes from Preston regarding a piece Alan wrote mentioning Arthur Shaw, photographer, of St Georges Road.
Mr Horsley has a couple of photographs of his great grandmother and her family and would like to know when Mr Shaw was working so that he can date the photographs. Can any reader help?
Another photograph, of the Swan Hotel, brought back emotional memories for Mr E. Tatton, of Farnworth.
Mr Tatton spent his wedding night, December 15 1945, at the hotel during a 48 hour leave from the RAF.
...and some news about the recent photograph of pupils from Harper Green County Secondary school crossing the road behind a bus. Brenda Aspinall sent an email to say that the girl "messing around in the middle" was her friend Denise Barlow.
