SANDWICH chain Subway is expanding in Bolton.
The company, which already has premises on Bradshawgate, will open a new restaurant in Newport Street on Saturday.
The firm is the largest "submarine" sandwich chain in the world, and the world's second largest single-branded fast-food franchise. It has expanded rapidly in Britain and in America has more branches than McDonald's.
Tom Kenworthy, owner of the new sandwich shop, said: "I am excited to be able to bring Subway's produce to the people of Bolton."
Subway Restaurants was co-founded by Fred DeLuca and Dr Peter Buck in 1965.
