POLICE are hunting an "extremely vicious" mugger who hit an 81-year-old man over the head before stealing his bag containing cash.
Harry Edwards, known locally as Old Harry, was hit with a rubber cosh and fell to the floor, breaking a hip and ribs in the attack in Salford.
The attack happened on Saturday morning as he walked along the Broadwalk towards Salford Precinct, in Pendleton. Mr Edwards is currently recovering in Hope Hospital, Salford.
