LEIGH were unlucky to go down to a narrow defeat to league leaders Irlam after conceding a last minute goal.
The first half was a tense, hard fought affair with few chances for either side, Wilkinson going closest for Leigh.
Despite Scott Lewis producing some outstanding form in midfield, the second half followed suit and a draw looked odds on after Wilkinson struck the woodwork for Leigh.
With the game in injury time, an Irlam break saw them snatch the lead and the points. There was still time for Sumner to strike the bar again for Leigh, but it was not to be.
The third team continued their good form with a 3-0 win over Stand, Meredith (2) and Dunn the scorers.
