STAFF and regulars at Atherton Liberal Club raised thousands of pounds for cancer hospital Christie's after their former club steward was treated succesfully for breast cancer.
Dorinda Pendlebury, from Atherton, has twice beaten the disease, thanks to the hospital.
Friends and former colleagues organised a concert evening which included bingo and a raffle with prizes donated by the local business community. They managed to raise £2,500.
Pauline Hunt from the Liberal Club said: "Dorinda is a much loved member of the team and we were so grateful for her successful treatment, we decided to do what we could to raise as much money for Christie as possible.
"We had a wonderful evening and were delighted to raise £2,500 for breast cancer research at the hospital."
