A DISABLED man was attacked by a masked man with a hammer as he was lying in bed.
The 57-year-old victim was in his Tyldesley home at 12.10pm on Monday when the attacker walked into his bedroom and threatened him with a hammer.
He was told to hand over cash before the offender rifled through his pockets and found money along with a wallet and two mobile phones.
The attacker, who was wearing a balaclava, then struck the man on the left knee with the hammer causing bruising before running out of the house before the victim alerted police.
A 22-year-old man from Astley arrested on suspicion of robbery was still helping police with their inquiries on Tuesday lunchtime.
