BOLTON Wanderers Football Club has received a prestigious business award for investing in its work force.
The Investors in People Standard aims to encourage business improvement through a company's people.
Phil Gartside, chairman of Bolton Wanderers, was presented with the trophy by Stephen Bromley, the workforce development specialist at Chamberlink.
A spokesman for for Investors in People said: "Everyone agrees that people are an organisation's greatest asset, and we all know that for an organisation to succeed everyone has to perform well.
"To achieve this, people need the right knowledge, skills and motivation to work efficiently.
"The Investors in People Standard give a framework to ensure that a business can achieve this."
Investors in People recognises that organisations use different means to achieve success through their people.
It does not prescribe any one method but provides a framework to help a business find the best way for achieving success.
