MAINE ROAD 1, ATHERTON COLLS 0 (match abandoned after 68 mins): A serious injury to Atherton's Lee Bowles caused the game to be abandoned with 22 minutes remaining at Maine Road.
Bowles was left with a badly fractured cheekbone and lay motionless for several minutes after an aerial challenge.
Paramedics were called to the pitch to give lengthy treatment and escort the player to hospital.
Maine Road were 1-0 up at the time, and the referee decided to abandon the game when it became clear Bowles was seriously hurt.
