Mr Gartside's questions about why fans did not attend the FA Cup match are offensive.

I cannot blame those who were very badly let down last year when, though season ticket holders, they did not get tickets for the Carling Cup Final.

I was one of those who were disappointed. I wrote twice to the club and did not receive a reply on either occasion. All that I have had is a circular letter promising that this kind of thing would not happen again.

I bought a season ticket again this year and for my two children. I bought tickets for Saturday's FA cup game - for myself, a friend and my three children. I guess this shows loyalty (or am I just soft).

Gartside is clearly out of touch with ordinary people like myself - he wants our money, but does not want to reward our loyalty.

How dare he question people's desire to attend the Reebok? Of course if Bolton get to the final, the thousands who have not attended will be after tickets and Gartside will once again be happy to sell to them.

Money is all that matters - short termism, not long termism. The Club has got a lot of the fans it deserves - and some very good ones that it perhaps does not deserve!

Certainly my loyalty has been severely dented in the past year - I am increasingly cynical about the club.

I go now because I want to give my family pleasure not out of any sense of loyalty - a sad state of affairs after supporting the club for 43 years.

Yours in disillusion

Mike Schofield
