I ATTENDED the Fulham tie, as did one of my sons, and we are both season ticket holders.

My eldest son wanted to attend but had to decide between the cost of raising a young family or the extra cost of attending an FA Cup game.

Having already paid out for a season ticket, he decided that, reluctantly, he would have to give this game a miss.

We appreciate the fact that the club reduced the ticket price, but for Mr Gartside to say that fans let the club down was not a very good statement to make.

As an FA representative, can he also explain to the fans why they have to make a trip to Cardiff for the semi-finals (after winning the next round of course)? This will present me with the problem of deciding if I can afford to attend the semi-final, or take a chance and wait for the final.

Maybe Mr Gartside will then criticise me in the press once again. That is if the club gets its ticketing policy right this time, unlike the Carling Cup final fiasco.
