PLANNING chiefs in Horwich have approved plans to install a ramp at Horwich Library to allow access for disabled people.
The ramp will be located at the side entrance of the Jones Street building and it would extend near to the trees between the library and the neighbouring clinic.
Tree and woodland officers have been consulted to find out whether the plans would have any impact on the tree's roots.
Members of Horwich Town Council's planning committee agreed that it was imperative to improve disabled access in the light of the new Disability Act legislation.
