A MAN is recovering in hospital suffering from severe burns to his hands after his bed caught fire early on Sunday.
Michael Darrenman, aged 20, had fallen asleep while a candle was burning just yards from his bed at a terraced house in Plodder Lane, Farnworth.
Firefighters believe he knocked the candle over in his sleep at 1.20 am on Monday.
