CHARLEY Coughlan and brother Sam were up bright and early for a chauffeured ride into school courtesy of their favourite radio show.

The Egerton County Primary pupils were picked up from their doorstep by Century FM as winners of the station's "Cool School" competition.

Their dad, Mike, rang the station to ask if Charley, aged seven, and Sam, aged five, who both listen every day, could be considered for the VIP treatment.

They were chosen and road crew Paula Picton and Rochelle Frankel turned up, to have a cup of tea and a chat with the youngsters about their favourite school subjects.

The lucky pair were also given goodie bags containing an umbrella, football, tea and cereal bowl before making the school run in a specially liveried Jeep.

Mr Coughlan said: "They were up at six oclock asking when the car was coming and were very excited.

"They love school and felt very special going in with everyone looking at the car."
