FA Cup rivals, Oldham Athletic, have just 24 hours if they are to strengthen their attacking hand ahead of Sunday's Boundary Park clash with Wanderers.
Latics boss, Brian Talbot, has until Friday to solve a striker crisis that has left him with right-winger Kevin Betsy, midfielder John Eyre and 18-year-old Chris Hall as his only available attackers for the fourth round tie.
With top scorer Chris Killen and the former Crewe hit-man Rodney Jack already sidelined and ex-Wanderer Jermaine Johnson banished, Talbot suffered a serious setback when Scott Vernon, who scored the matchwinner against Manchester City in the third round, was injured in Turesday night's LDV Vans Trophy victory over Tranmere and will be out for at least three weeks.
