Craig Seymour met up again with his brother Colin whom he feared had perished in the Asian tsunami disaster.

Craig and Marina are now back home in Danesmoor Drive, Bury after their week-long mission to locate Colin.

Craig said: "When I met up with him I started crying. He isn't very emotional, but I could tell he was chuffed."

Colin, formerly of Marsden Walk, Radcliffe, was initially thought to have been living on the island of Phuket when the disaster unfolded on Boxing Day.

But after their fears for 43-year-old Colin were publicised, Craig and Marina learned he had been workling on Koh Yao Noi as the manager of holiday bungalows.

Craig was able to find his brother within hours of landing in Thailand after first visiting the British embassy in Phuket.

He said: "When we arrived, we told the officer the information that we knew, and he went into another room to try and ring Colin's workplace.

"He came back and said "We've found him". And not only that, he had him on the phone."

Colin told Craig and Marina that when the tidal wave hit his island it was about 6ft high, but thanks to a 7ft wall on the shore, there was little damage.

Without media coverage on the island, Colin was unaware of the tsunami disaster that was taking place.
