FIREFIGHTERS were called to a series of vehicle blazes at a scrapyard in Breightmet on Wednesday night. A car and a heavy goods vehicle were deliberately set alight at Chadwick's Scrapyard at 8.20pm. One hour later, crews were called out again to the Oakenbottom Road site after a second wagon was set on fire. All three vehicles were destroyed. Police are investigating.
It follows a spate of suspicious blazes at the scrapyard over recent weeks.
