I AM writing to ask if Mr Stevens of Agora has asked the Bolton Council tax payers what they would like in the revamp of the Market Hall?
Yes please to the revamp, no thanks to 25 little shops.
I like the Market Hall's unique shops, like the herbalist and John's meats. We need these shops to stay within the centre of town because they are unique, friendly, and what the Bolton public wants, no matter what age you are!
As a shopping fanatic I have been to Oldham, Bury and Manchester, but none offer what Bolton's got. Little shops are being pushed out so that town centres can be cloned! As for Bolton Council, of course they will be up for it! With the offer of £300,000 a year profit, plus car parking fees and fines (which have gone up again), they are laughing all the way to the bank.
So, Mr Stevens, yes please to the revamp, but please let's keep the little shops. Let Bolton be unique!
