PEOPLE in Greater Manchester can now find out how police are performing at the touch of a button.
Greater Manchester Police has launched a facility that provides crime details and performance information on its website: www.gmp.police.uk
The force says the new web pages show its commitment to making itself more accessible.
The rolling 12-month figures to December 2004 show total crime was slashed by 9.3 per cent.
Domestic burglary was down by 25.9 per cent and there was a 15 per cent fall in robberies.
Chief Constable Michael Todd said: "We have taken tremendous steps to open up GMP, and I want people to be able to use the details to question us about our performance.
"It is important that we ensure we are accountable for
everything we do, and this information will show the results of our work to fight crime and protect people."
