IT was good to see members of Bolton Mountain Rescue team getting a commendation for bravery in risking their lives searching for a teenage boy who was, sadly, later found drowned.
It was just one incident of many in which the plucky team regularly involves itself, often in terrible conditions.
The Bolton squad is called into a variety of life-threatening scenarios - all round the region - and dozens of people owe their lives to these enduring efforts.
Most of us would never put ourselves in such precarious rescue situations, and certainly not volunteer to do so.
