CONSTRUCTION companies from Bolton and the North-west met to pitch for £250 million worth of contracts when a top-level Swiss delegation visited the Reebok Stadium on Tuesday.
The six-strong group met firms interested in working on three stadia for the Euro 2008 football championships.
During the visit, local businesses met the delegates over lunch at the Reebok, followed by one-to-one meetings.
The three building projects - 50,000, 30,000 and 12,000-seat stadia - are expected to catapult Switzerland into the premier league for sporting facilities.
The event was organised by the International Trade Centre at ChamberLink.
Helle Larsen Director of the International Trade Centre said: "This was a unique opportunity for Bolton businesses to get involved in three major overseas construction projects. We are sure that there will be some good news in the next few months."
