BOYBAND McFly will record the official Red Nose Day song this year.

The group, said to be the biggest teen band in Britain following "rival" Busted's split earlier this month, will release All About You on March 7.

The song will feature a 60-piece orchestra and has been written by McFly singer Tom Fletcher.

It was recorded by the band - which also includes Danny Jones, from Bolton, Harry Judd and Dougie Poynter - at Studio 2 at Abbey Road, London.

Red Nose Day 2005 is on Friday, March 11, running with the theme Big Hair & Beyond. This year is the 20th anniversary of the Comic Relief charity and the 10th Red Nose Day.

Kevin Cahill, CEO of Comic Relief, said: "McFly are at the top of their game and we are delighted that they are supporting the campaign.

"We're sure to have a hit on our hands and hope to raise as much money as possible to help people in real trouble at home in the UK and in Africa."

Last year, McFly entered the UK singles chart at number one in April with their debut single Five Colours In Her Hair.

The song lost out by a one point to label mates Busted at the Record Of The Year 2004.

In June, their second single, Obviously, stormed to the top of the chart, followed two weeks later by another entry at the top of the album chart for their debut album, Room On The Third Floor.

The double-platinum album earned the band a place in the Guinness Book of Records as the youngest ever to debut at number one with their first album, a record formerly held by the Beatles.
