THORNLEIGH College are out of the English Schools U18s Cup after going down 5-4 on penalties to Clitheroe Grammar School in their fifth round clash.
The two teams could not be separated in a thrilling 1-1 exra time draw but the Clitheroe lads held their nerve to clinch a last 32 spot with their penalty shoot-out win.
St. James CE School U14s also suffered a knockout, going down 4-3 to St. Bede's School (Ormskirk) School in the fourth round of the ESFA Four Aces Cup.
St. Gabriel's School (Bury) are through to the North regional finals in the U13s Coca-Cola Cup following their 1-0 win against St. Bede's in the Greater Manchester final.
Thornleigh U13s Girls were not so fortunate, losing 5-1 to St. Anthony's RC College, Urmston, in the Greater Manchester final.
At inter association level, Bolton U15s' Greater Manchester Schools League match against Tameside at Sharples School, Bury U15s league match against Stockport at the Derby School, and Bury U14s league match at Stockport were all postponed due to frozen pitches.
