EXCESSIVE speed cost lorry driver Wendy Aldred her life on a motorway slip-road.
A Manchester inquest heard how her 17-ton lorry smashed through a safety barrier after she lost control on a bend.
Miss Aldred, aged 32, was killed when her lorry plunged down an embankment before hitting a tree.
Mother-of-two Miss Aldred, of Hough Lane, Tyldesley, had been making her way on to the M60 one morning last June.
She joined the slip road in Wythenshawe to return to a Trafford Park depot.
Police accident investigation expert estimated she had been travelling at more than 50mph when she failed to negotiate the bend.
Miss Aldred who had been driving for a living for years, was trapped in her extensively damaged cab and died at the scene.
Coroner Leonard Gorodkin recorded a verdict of accidental death.
