THREE weeks of no refuse collections and very gusty or gale force winds makes a very messy town!
I, among many others, have made several trips to Raikes Lane tip to recycle bottles, Christmas trees and green waste, etc.
Wouldn't it be an excellent idea if, when visiting the tip to recycle, one was given a voucher or points put on a swipe card, which would then contribute to some discount off our council tax? It probably costs me £2-£3 in petrol every time I make the journey.
This scheme would also deter and motivate would-be fly-tippers into being more responsible.
Would any of our now councillors have the guts to promote and implement such a scheme, or would they have the gall to just put the council tax charge up again?
