I READ Cllr Peel's letter with some interest in last week's Bolton Evening News regarding the real-time timetable pilot.

After I had stopped laughing, I wondered if he would like to stand at the bus stop near Hulton Lane Hospital, read the timetable and decide whether or not he would wait for the bus or make other arrangements.

The number 37 bus must be one of the worst routes for punctuality.

Last Friday I waited for 25 minutes before it turned up. The week before it did not turn up at all. I have known it to sail past Hulton Lane and carry on down St Helens Road, or not turn up at all.

It is all right for Cllr Peel to say we can make other arrangements should we wish, but a number of elderly people catch this bus into town and do not have this option. The buses on this route are usually the very old ones and, more often than not, dirty. It is a waste of time trying to complain to anyone about them.

All I can say thank goodness we have the 620 and the 520, albeit running every hour. They do in the main turn up on time. Perhaps Cllr Peel would like to try this route some time.
