MANY children may miss out on getting free maps of their home areas, worth £7 each, because their teachers have not ordered them.
Every 11-year-old in the country is entitled to an Ordnance Survey Explorer map for both home and school use as part of the national mapping agency's initiative.
Last year 98 per cent of the available stocks were taken, but with the deadline just days away this year one in four maps have not been claimed.
The booking web site is: www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/freemapsfor11yearolds.
