BOLTON U15s bid to make progress in the NUT English Schools Trophy when they entertain Pendle in their second round clash at Sharples School on Saturday, kick off 10.30.

The local youngsters, who have yet to put their name on the prestigious national Inter Association Cup, warmed up for that encounter with a thrilling 3-3 draw against Salford in the Greater Manchester Schools' League at Broughton last week.

Bolton made it into the second round with a 2-1 win against Mid-Cheshire and they should be strong enough to make progress into the next round.

Bury Under 15s are also bidding for trophy honours and they take on Tameside in their second round tie at the Derby School tomorrow (10.30).

The Under 15s won the trophy for the first time in 1996 beating Walsall in a two-legged Final and manager Alan Smith will be hopeful of an extended run in the cup this season.

Bury Under 14s complete the local action looking for their first win of the season when they travel to take on St. Helens in a challenge match on Merseyside tomorrow, kick off 10.30. Bury have lost to Trafford, Manchester and Wigan so far.
