YOUNG people in Great Lever have been following in the footsteps of Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen by trying their hands at "Changing Rooms".
A team of youngsters took part in a community-based Painting Pals project, giving the bedroom of 65-year-old Brenda McGuiness a makeover. The room was painted and papered and also got new curtains, furniture, carpets and bedding.
Afterwards, she said: "It looks absolutely fantastic - it brought a tear to my eye."
Five pupils aged between 13 and 16 from Hayward, Smithills and Sharples schools took part in the project. The young people were advised by a student interior designer and contacted businesses such as Glyn Webb, Focus DIY, Derek's Carpets of Bolton and Bolton At Home for donations and support.
It was organised by Osman Hassan, a project worker with Bolton Council's Moving Up Through Leisure scheme.
