MORE than £1 million in grants has been spent on family homes in Bolton South-east to help them keep warm through the winter.
MP Brian Iddon claims around 1,321 households have become warmer and more energy efficient since April 2003, because of the funding.
Warm Front Grants are being spent across the borough to help residents keep healthy, save energy and cut the cost of their fuel bills. According to Eaga Partnership Ltd, 89 households have benefited from a brand new central heating system and a further 185 have received repairs to broken or condemned boilers.
Dr Iddon said: "There are many more who can still apply."
To qualify, householders need to own their own home or rent from a private landlord, and be in receipt of an income or disability related benefit. To apply call 0800 316 6014.
