BOLTON MP Dr Brian Iddon is encouraging people to apply for a series of grants to install environmentally friendly heating systems in their homes.
More than £1million has been spent on the installation of new central heating systems in Bolton South-east since April last year.
Up to 1,321 households have taken advantage of the Warm Fronts grants scheme operated by Eaga Partnership.
A further 89 households have had new central heating systems installed and 185 have received repairs to broken or condemned boilers.
Dr Iddon said: "Warm Front grants are proving popular in Bolton South-east and have already helped households become warmer and energy efficient."
To qualify for the scheme, householders need to own their own home or rent from a private landlord.
They also need to have an income or disability related benefit.
Residents can contact the Warm Front team on 0800 316 6014 to apply for a grant.
