A FIREFIGHTER charged with causing death by dangerous driving while answering a 999 call has appeared in court.
Ian Robertson, aged 42, of Alderbank Close, Kearsley, appeared at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester, accused of causing the death of a motorist in January when a fire engine he was driving was in collision with a car in Irlam. The driver who died was 39-year-old Philip Yates from Eccles.
The case was adjourned until December 21.
