Blackrod Town 3 Eagley 2: DAVID Sutch's second-half goal won a thrilling West Lancashire League Premier Division derby.
Blackrod raced into a 2-0 lead inside 20 minutes thanks to goals from Chris Farnworth and Sam Cardwell.
But Eagley pulled a goal back just before half-time, when Neil Matthew powered a header into the top corner of the net.
And their second-half pressure was rewarded with an equaliser 15 minutes from the end, when Carl Grimshaw hammered in James Hamer's cross.
But Blackrod bounced back, and Sutch struck to give the home side victory.
Blackrod's reserves won 5-4 at Tempest United.
Carl McKnight scored twice, with Andy Morris, Aron Collier and former Tempest man Danny Ashcroft also on target.
Goals from Brad Darby and Tom Birchby earned Eagley reserves a 2-2 draw at Poulton.
Eagley visit Fleetwood Hesketh this Saturday, while the reserves host Hesketh Bank. Both games kick off at 3pm.
