MY item about the "Buried Treasure" archaeological exhibition at the Manchester Museum at the University of Manchester has prompted an email from Mollie T Thomas, secretary of the Bolton and District Prospector Club.
Mollie, who lives in Temple Road, Halliwell, writes: "I would just like to point out that most of the 'treasures' on display have been found by metal detectorists.
"Let us give credit where it is due please."
She adds: "This exhibition is actually touring the country and it was put together by the BBC, the National Council for Metal Detecting Clubs and the Federation of Independent Metal Detectorists."
The free exhibition runs until January 15, 2005, and shows how "chance" discoveries have shed new light on the understanding of our past.
