WITH reference to the letters in the Bolton Evening News from J O'Connor and Ainslie Casson, I also agree that the money from Bolton at Home is not always spent wisely.
For instance, the flats in Balmoral Road/Albert Road, Farnworth, have also had new block pavement paths and railing, plus a car park. This is all very well, but what was needed was the walls of the flats steam-cleaned properly, not only half done as a few months ago.
Also, I have lived here 25 years facing the flats, and they have never had a coat of paint on the entrance doors.
As well as putting horrible aluminium covers partly over gutterings, which also need painting, it would finish the job off properly if this work was done, if it is not in hand.
